The local administrative centre is always worth a visit. There a a few shops to potter about it, the canal and the Fosse Dionne os a beautiful and interesting structure that must be visited whilst in Tonnerre.
You will most likely visit Chablis to sample the wine, but the town itself also deserves an exploration - it is a pretty place with some attractive medieval buildings.
A pleasant canal side village. The renaissance Chateau of Tanlay is a worthwhile visit, with a good nine hole golf course within the chateau grounds.
